We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or practice. Updates will be published on our website.

13. Connected accounts and third-party data

Google Calendar and Google Workspace API data

If you choose to connect your Google Calendar to Afternoon, we request read-only access to your calendar events and your Google account email address through Google Workspace APIs, solely to provide the meeting features you have requested.

We use this data to identify your connected account, display and sync upcoming meetings, schedule our meeting assistant to join them, and identify participants in meeting transcripts and notes. Events you mark as private or confidential in Google Calendar are not synced.

Calendar data is processed on our behalf by Recall.ai, our calendar synchronisation and meeting recording provider, and participant details may be shared with our AI model providers to generate your meeting notes. All providers are bound by contract to use the data only to deliver our service.

Afternoon’s use and transfer of raw or derived user data received from Google Workspace APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not access Google Calendar data for users who have not connected their Google Calendar. We do not use Google Workspace API data for advertising or marketing, or to develop, improve or train generalised artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

You can disconnect your Google Calendar at any time from your settings, which stops all further access. You may also revoke access via your Google account permissions.

Microsoft 365 data

If you choose to connect your Microsoft account to Afternoon, we request only the permissions needed for the features you enable:
  • Outlook calendar: read-only access to your calendar events and your account email address, to display and sync upcoming meetings, schedule our meeting assistant to join them, and identify participants in meeting transcripts and notes. Calendar data is processed on our behalf by Recall.ai, our calendar synchronisation and meeting recording provider.
  • SharePoint and OneDrive: read access to the sites and files you choose to connect, so we can import client documents into Afternoon. Where you enable it, write access is used only to save documents back to the location you select.
  • Email: permission to send email from your account, used only when you explicitly choose to send a message from Afternoon.

We do not access Microsoft data for users who have not connected a Microsoft account. We do not use Microsoft data for advertising or marketing, or to develop, improve or train generalised artificial intelligence or machine learning models. You can disconnect any Microsoft integration at any time from your settings, or revoke access from your Microsoft account permissions.
